Andhra Pradesh: Incessant Rains and Floods Damaged Paddy on 1.80 Lakh Hectares
The incessant rains damaged paddy crops over a total of 1,80,243 hectares and horticulture crops over an extent of 17,645 hectares. Additionally, R&B roads spanning 2,851 kms and panchayat roads spanning 221 kms were damaged due to heavy rains across the state. According to the data issued by the AP State Disaster Management Control Room at 9 pm on Tuesday, a total of 4,870 kg of food has been distributed to people in flood-affected areas through six helicopters, and 21 people have been rescued in emergencies by helicopters in the state.
Furthermore, 149 cattle along with 59,848 hens died due to heavy rains and floods, and vaccines have been provided to 11,968 cattle. Additionally, 12 power substations were damaged, and 78 minor irrigation projects were breached due to rains and floods in the state.The disaster management has sent flood and rain alerts through AP Alert to a total of 7.49 crore users in the state.
