Andhra Pradesh bags Rs 5.2 lakh crore clean energy investments in two days at CII Summit
Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister G. Ravi Kumar announced that the state secured investment commitments worth Rs 5.2 lakh crore, with the potential to create more than 2.6 lakh jobs across the energy sector, in just two days.
The minister said these pledges were made on November 13 and 14, the inaugural day of the 30th CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam. The deal spans renewable energy, green hydrogen, pumped storage, biofuels, manufacturing, and hybrid RE projects.
On November 13, the state signed investment deals valued at over Rs 2.94 lakh crore, expected to create nearly 70,000 jobs. Similarly, agreements worth over Rs 2.2 lakh crore, with the potential to create nearly two lakh jobs, were finalised on November 14.
According to Energy Minister Kumar, the investment pledges reflect a decisive shift in investor confidence, reinforcing Andhra Pradesh’s position as India’s fastest-growing hub for clean energy and green hydrogen.
ReNew to invest Rs 82,000 crore in AP
The UK-based green energy major ReNew Energy Global announced an investment of Rs 60,000 crore ($6.7 billion) in Andhra Pradesh to set up multiple green energy projects in the state, bringing its total fresh investment in the state to Rs 82,000 crore ($9.3 billion).
The global renewable energy major has already committed Rs 22,000 crore worth of investment to the state in May 2025 to set up one of India’s largest hybrid renewable energy projects in the country.
