Karnataka: Court grants injunction in favor of Sri Lakshmi Srinivasa Rice Mill in trademark infringement case
Sri Lakshmi Srinivasa Rice Mill successfully obtained an order of injunction from the commercial courts of Bengaluru, restraining the opposing party from infringing and passing off its registered trademark, “KNR Padmavati Super Fine Rice.” The court also granted an order of investigation, inspection, and seizure of infringing products stored at multiple locations.
The legal dispute arose when the opposing party was found to be unlawfully using a deceptively similar trademark, threatening the goodwill and market presence that Sri Lakshmi Srinivasa Rice Mill has built since 1999.
This ruling prevents further dilution of Sri Lakshmi Srinivasa Rice Mill’s brand value and sets a strong precedent against the unauthorized use of trademarks in the industry.
