Madhya Pradesh: BJP MLA Ajay Vishnoi Exposes ₹5 Crore Paddy Scam In Jabalpur During Assembly Session, Demands Action
BJP MLA Ajay Vishnoi rocked the assembly by raising paddy scam of Jabalpur on Tuesday. He said that at five paddy procurement centres of Jabalpur district, 22,588 quintals less paddy, worth Rs 5 crore was found. Moreover, paddy was not transported outside Jabalpur and lakhs of rupees was given to millers in the name of paddy transportation.
He further claimed that without depositing paddy at procurement centre, employees of cooperative committees, hand-in-glove with food department officials managed to withdraw crores of rupees from government account.
The EOW had taken action in areas around Jabalpur and 22 people were arrested from Jabalpur district. But no action was taken by EOW in Jabalpur where all irregularities happened. Many cooperative committees have become defaulters. Food and civil supplies minister Govind Singh Rajput said that to check the issue of fake milling, contemplation is being done to have centralised computerisation system. The department is also planning to make GPS system mandatory in all vehicles to check irregularities.
He added that in association with the cooperative department, action will be taken against procurement centres named by Vishnoi. Moreover, wherever irregularities done by computer operators have come to the fore, strict action will be taken. Payment of remaining 271 farmers will be done shortly.
