Over 31L lakh MT wheat, 5L MT mustard procured from nearly 4L farmers in Haryana so far

The procurement of crops is progressing rapidly in Haryana during the ongoing rabi marketing season 2025-’26. A total of 31.52 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of wheat has been procured across the state since April 1, of which 8.59 lakh MT has been lifted. This is nearly double the quantity of the crop procured during this period last year — 18.24 lakh metric tonnes.

A govt spokesperson said wheat has been purchased from more than 2 lakh farmers so far, and Rs 1400 crore has already been transferred directly to their bank accounts.

The spokesperson further said 4.93 lakh MT of mustard has been procured from 1,71,000 farmers until now, of which 3.40 lakh MT of the crop has been lifted. Mustard is being purchased by two agencies in the state — HAFED and Haryana Warehousing Corporation. The procurement of mustard started earlier than that of wheat from March 15.

About Rs 1843 crore has been transferred directly to the accounts of the mustard farmers, the spokesperson said, adding that the govt is committed to buying every grain of the crops grown by the farmers of Haryana.
