Kirloskar Oil Engines Debuts Ethanol and Isobutanol Engines Evaluated by ARAI

Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited (KOEL) has unveiled its pioneering Ethanol and Isobutanol Engines for Genset applications — the first technology of its kind in the world to be evaluated by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).
The launch was officiated by Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, highlighting the government’s commitment to alternative fuels as a pathway towards energy independence and environmental stewardship.
Timed around World Biofuel Day, the launch reflects KOEL’s leadership in clean power solutions and its dedication to advancing India’s alternative fuel ecosystem.
The new Ethanol and Isobutanol Engines are designed to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions, and deliver robust, reliable performance across a range of industrial and commercial applications.
